Cleve Archers Ltd
Becoming an Archery Coach

Cleve Archers are currently experiencing an increase in membership and with a growing membership we require more coaches to ensure members have a coaching plan in place, thereby improving our membership retention rates.

The first step in your journey is to talk to our own experienced coaches:

  • Richard Jones is a Senior Coach and has many years of experience up to Olympic level.
  • Declan Ashworth and Sophie Brain are Level 2 Coaches who are both training as Performance Programme Coaches (Level 3) they have years' of experience working with Student Archers and individuals.
  • Francesca Hawker and Bob Nicholls are Level 2 Coaches with more than 25 years’ experience involved at club and county level coaching and running Cleve Archers junior club.
  • Matthew Wellman is a Level 2 Coach, assisting with beginners’ courses and individual coaching having come from Southampton University.
  • Connor Groves and Graham Hunter session coaches running beginner courses.
  • Julie Hunter a level 1 coach who has helped with our experience archery courses.

Becoming an archery coach allows you to make a positive impact on Cleve Archers members archery development.

A good starting point is to become a Level 1 coach trained in teaching session preparations and management, basic archery technique and course safety, equipment selection and bow maintenance, and advice on different bow styles and disciplines.

By teaching and guiding new archers, you can pass on your knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm and encourage them to become active members of Cleve.
